REQUIREMENTS:
• Fill out the attached Official Application.
• Nominees must be animals that fit one of the three categories listed on the form below.
• Animals need not be living to be nominated.
• Type or print a document that explains how the animal exhibited special abilities, displayed courageous or unselfish behavior, and/or benefitted the community.
• Support letters are not required, but welcome.
• A photo of the animal is requested and will not be returned.
• Application forms, attachments and photo must be submitted to the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association by Dec. 31st.
Nominations can be resubmitted.
No more than one entrant will be selected each year. Inductees into the El Paso Animal Hall of Fame are selected from nominations received by a selection panel consisting of members from the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association, animal welfare agencies, and the public.
The selection process will be completed by January 31st and the inductee's owner/steward will be notified soon thereafter. The inductee will be recognized at the Annual Veterinary Community Awards Banquet held in May during National Pet Week. The animal's owner/steward will receive a plaque at the event, and a plaque will be placed in the Animal Hall of Fame at the El Paso Zoo. The animal and/or owner/steward must be available to receive the award.
