Southwest Koi And Pond Association (SKAPA): Visit this site to learn more about our local El Paso Koi club.  It's a great organization that focuses on members helping members whether it's getting started with your first pond or with a Koi health problem.  We currently have 2 certified Koi Health Assistants that work with Dr. McCabe on fish health matters.  The website contains lots of great information and a membership form to make it easy to join!

Microchip your fish!:  Microchipping is now available for your prize fish.  Visit this site to learn more and see a short video on how it's performed.  Microchipping provides positive identification of your fish and links your emergency contact information to your fish, if it is stolen.  Fish must be at least 4 inches in length in order to be chipped.  Koi colors and patterns can change as the fish ages, but the chip's 15 digit ID code never changes.  Many valuable fish have been chipped in order to insure identification in case of theft.
